For now I would go for the stars. The cross on the green could be nice if it would be drawn like the pictures on the card and if the cross would blend in more with the green I think some variation with different greens would make it more come alive
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen,
DeleteThe cross is a picture from the Cross card, which I extracted and put onto a plain background, and blended all the edges. I also tried a couple of different shades of green. I can try some more, and maybe the smart people at US Games have some ideas about how to do that sort of thing...
I forgot to tell that I like the sepia stars best
ReplyDeleteI like the sepia stars best too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad quite a few people like the sepia stars, that's probably my personal favourite :) Plus it took me hours to edit :D
DeleteI'm torn between the sepia stars and the green cross.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely plaid painted for me. Note that Cross is an unfavourable card/symbol in traditional Lenormand systems.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I tried to take an extract of a plaid Will had painted, but couldn't. So, that one I painted myself. Glad someone likes it ;)
DeleteI like the plaid painted. Second place, sepia stars. Definitely not the cross cards, though.
DeleteWhat do you all think of a "KEY" instead of a cross
ReplyDeleteThe image from the Key card wouldn't work very well here, unless I could rotate it a bit. Hmmm, will see what I can figure out...
DeleteI understand that you are making the background. Why isn't Will doing that. He could draw any kind of background you would like And it would be perhaps more easy for him
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen,
DeleteBack design is generally a different kind of art to the actual images, and not something that Will normally does. Most publishers employ graphic designers specifically for things like packaging design, including the backs. However, I would like to at least have some suggestions for US Games before they take it over, so that what the people who want the deck prefer will be taken into account :)
Another idea. Why not use the cross on the sail of the ship card. That is less Churchy, has no negative meaning and is really Celtic. I think Will could draw the cross right up in frontal position and then the graphic designers could fit that in a lively green background like i have seen on your facebook page
ReplyDeleteHey, how about creating a sigil using CL for Celtic Lenormand?
